Massage TherapySwedish Relaxation:A full body massage that relaxes the soft tissue, improves muscle tone, and stimulates circulation. Swedish massage uses long, smooth, gliding strokes and kneads the muscles, stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system and allowing the body to enter a state of relaxation and healing. The depth of pressure during a Swedish massage is unique to each individual and we will determine what is appropriate together during the massage.Deep Tissue Therapy:The muscular body is made up of layers of muscles on top of each other with fascia (connective tissue) in between. Swedish massage strokes are first used to warm the soft tissue and increase pliability in the muscles and fascia. Then deeper pressure is applied to the specific areas experiencing increased levels of tension and restriction (knots) allowing the muscles to let go and relieving pain. Due to the layering of the muscles and the nature of the work, deep tissue massage often takes more time than Swedish relaxation massage to work with specific areas of the body. Movement Therapy:Movement therapy uses active and passive stretching with movement and breath to release physical tension and allow more efficient energy flow in the body. movement helps to lubricate the joints, stimulate muscular relaxation, and stretch muscles and fascia. This is an extremely effective technique for enhancing well being and is usually performed on a fully clothed client. Fees:30 minute (specific targeted area).......................$40 Workplace Massage...........................................$1/minute + additional travel fee Gift Certificates Available What to Expect During Your Massage:When you arrive at your first scheduled appointment, there will be an information sheet for you to fill out followed by a discussion to determine your body's needs during the session. I will then leave the room for a few minutes while you get on the table, relax, and make yourself comfortable in preparation for your massage Your privacy and comfort is of utmost importance. Clients are always draped in a manner that is appropriate to protect them from feeling overexposed. You may undress to your own comfort level, removing clothing and/or undergarments or not, as you wish. If you would prefer to stay dressed, please express this to me as I can always perform movement therapy during which you are fully clothed. Always remember to drink lots of water for 24 to 48 hours after receiving massage to minimize soreness and help flush toxins from the tissue during the session. |
